Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International Airport is located 13 miles south of downtown Cincinnati in Northern Kentucky. It has remained one of the nation's fastest-growing airports for over 10 years, during which time annual traffic volume has doubled to more than 20 million passengers. Along with this growth, CVG has become a dynamic force in the region's economy. CVG stands for "Covington, that being the nearest city of any size when the airport opened in 1947. The folks from Cincinnati, however, like to think of it as an abbreviation for "Cincinnati Very Good." That's a marketing slogan picked up from Neil Armstrong when he was on CVG's board of directors in 1974.
